Data entry jobs are part of the Internet rush for gold, and some people claim to have their pockets full of dollars by simply plunking at the computer from the comfort of their home. Data entry jobs require no human contact, the stress levels are incomparably lower and there is no experience necessary, or at least this is what the advertisements for such positions claim. To debunk the not so solid data entry myth, it is virtually impossible to make thousands of dollars from this kind of employment, in fact most data entry jobs are typing or email processing jobs. On certain occasions data entry jobs only hide the old scam with envelope stuffing at home.
Yet, we cannot ignore the truth: real data entry jobs are definitely out there, but they resemble much any other form of employment. For instance, you’ll have to pass a typing test or you should have some previous experience or skill in order to be able to fill such a position. Most data entry jobs remain within the limits of a certain geographical location because most businesses are too cautious to entrust their source company data to people they cannot check from some distant country. Typists normally belong to the local area, and the payment is most often modest given the fact that the education level and the skills necessary for the jobs are modest too.
In order to avoid scams it is important to keep in mind the fact that data entry jobs are free. Don’t pay a cent to get access to information because reliable companies have all the interest to get the right people for the jobs. The ads that lead to web sites where a small fee is charged for the material necessary for training purposes, are scams, and they should not be trusted. How is it possible that so many people get duped by such situations?
First one gets lured by the big money promise from data entry jobs promotion, and when the fortune fails to appear one gets disappointed and either abandons the attempts to work from home or starts taking wrong decisions. This is in fact the lack of vigilance that most scam authors wait for: to appeal to someone who is almost desperate to find a solution and generate money somehow. Therefore, it is good to be well informed and down-to-earth all the time, because a realistic perspective is a lot more difficult to shake.
