Why Are Backlinks Imperative For Improving Search Engine Rankings In Google?

There is no doubt in my mind that those amoungst you who are aware of how Google works and achieving top rankngs will have the same opinion with me when I say that backlinks are so very important in getting that all important 1st page position. Of course if they don’t cost anything then everyone loves that!.
For those of you new to websites and SEO then a backlink is essentially another link from an alternative website that points to your website,some call them inbound links. Basically if you post an article and there is a link in it to your site, that’s a backlink! Seems simple enough right? Another example is if you asked someone to put a link on their site to yours.
It is within reach of most people to attain these backlinks but you would be wise to note that you should get links from other relevant content. Lets say your site subject is about travelling the world, getting your links from other travelling sites will bring you better results, this is paramount as the search engines love relevant sites that link to each other. So every backlink that comes from a relevant site will be more effective. Relevant backlinks are far more impacting in a positive way.
If you work hard at it you can dominate the search engines for most key phrases, evidently there are some key phrases with already too many websites competing for them but there are still many, many, many you can still tackle. It’s really a case of who has the most backlinks, so if you want to outrank your friend, develop more link juice then they have and given that your content is relevant to your desired key phrase it’s most likely you will get a better ranking.
Not much to it really is there? What you must remember is you must be regular, Google especially gets excited when it sees links appearing often to your site, Google will take a high interest in you and hence will rank you higher. If you make a few links and then pause Google may get sad and loose interest in your website and you never want that!
It sucks getting other sites to link to you and it can also be a long and arduous process to get your content into the relevant places, I’ve done this before so I know! The ideal solution is to have an automated system in place where we can do the work just once then get on with our lives whilst our links are being built for us right?. Or even better would be to have our backlinks built for us on Auto-Pilot so we don’t have to do anything!
